As the EU charts its course for the next seven-year financial period, the ambition for a resilient, competitive, and socially cohesive Europe increases. Turning this ambition into reality also requires a future-proof Erasmus+ programme, already attested as one of Europe’s greatest success stories. Erasmus+ has empowered students, staff, and higher education institutions, strengthened international collaborations, and shaped education systems while driving progress across economies and societies in Europe.
At the intersection of key EU priorities—competitiveness, social cohesion, digital and green transitions, skills development, European values, and EU’s role in the world, among others—Erasmus+ plays a crucial role in shaping Europe’s future. As discussions on the next Erasmus+ programme (2028-2035) gain momentum, it is essential to strike a balance, ensuring the programme remains strategically aligned with evolving political priorities while preserving and enhancing its core strengths and the unique objectives. How can Erasmus+ continue to serve as a transformative force in higher education—driving innovation and strengthening its impact—while consolidating its successes to effectively support broader societal and economic goals?
To tackle these questions head-on, five ACA members with representation in Brussels—the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, Brussels Office), the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir), the CZELO office of the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS), VLUHR International, and Movetia—together with the ACA Secretariat, invite key EU stakeholders to a pivotal discussion on 29 April 2025, 12:00 – 16:30 CEST at Palais des Académies in Brussels, exploring the broader strategic questions and concrete solutions for a stronger and more impactful future Erasmus+ programme.
Contribute to these timely discussions by attending in-person in Brussels. Be sure to register today to secure your spot; registration closes 23 April. There is no participation fee for this seminar!
