In 2022 the European higher education sector is expected to continue building and innovating in the frameworks of new and existing cooperation. While the highly anticipated European Strategy for Universities will set the general framework for the sector in the upcoming years, the well-established activities within Erasmus+ and other programmes are developing new practical and thematic forms of cooperation seeking to create more sustainable, inclusive and digitalised learning experiences.

The main goal of What’s New in Brussels? Recent developments in European policies and programmes is to facilitate such institutional processes and to offer a birds-eye overview of the key innovations and opportunities in the new generation of EU higher education & research programmes and policies. The discussion will feature concrete approaches higher education institutions and national agencies can employ to put the new European directions into practice. The event will also provide an opportunity to engage in an open dialogue with leading experts and policy makers.

The upcoming edition will focus on latest developments in European higher education with special attention on the upcoming European Strategy for Universities, and expectations for the European Universities Initiative. Each thematic discussion includes perspectives from policy leaders, researchers and institutional leaders. After extrapolating recent developments around the European Universities Initiative, the programme continues with an in-depth overview of the open calls in the Erasmus+ programme in each Key Action and European and international dimension. To bring in the stakeholder voices, the programme also features two stakeholder panels on inclusion and micro-credentials and the European Degree and European Statute.

We look forward to e-seeing you there!
