Lars Banzhaf is Co-Head of the Mobility Unit at the CIVIS University Alliance, based at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and has almost 20 years of experience in international student mobility. He is part of the core team of CIVIS that manages the overall procedure for BIPs and works at the interface of the CIVIS Alliance and the Erasmus + Team at Tübingen University.
BliZ, the Study Centre for Blind and Visually Impaired Students at Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences
Andreas Deitmer
Andreas Deitmer studied Computer Science and works as Deputy Director at the Study Centre for Blind and Disabled Students (BliZ) at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen- University of Applied Sciences (THM). Since he is blind himself, his professional passion is digital accessibility, which he conveys to students, public institutions and industrial companies as part of consulting and teaching activities. Since 2022, he is a PhD candidate in Management at Iscte University – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa in Lisbon (Portugal, Europe). In his spare time, he volunteers for theGerman Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted (DBSV), supporting their digital accessibility activities.
Since joining the EUF in November 2022, Salome has been contributing to the successful implementation of Erasmus+ KA2 projects, focusing on environmental sustainability, inclusion, and digitalisation, as well as supporting policy activities at the Brussels office. They hold a Master's degree in European Studies from KU Leuven, majoring in Sustainability and minoring in European Governance.
Domain Coordinator Alternative Internationalisation

Wannes Gijsels
Wannes Gijsels is a domain coordinator at the International Relations Office of the University of Antwerp, where he leads the unit “Alternative Internationalisation and Antwerp Summer and Winter University.” He started out as a summer school coordinator and policy officer, and helped develop a framework for short international programmes for students and professionals. Since 2010, this initiative has grown into a well-established part of the university’s international offer, with 30+ courses available in 2026.
In addition to managing Antwerp Summer and Winter University, Wannes is committed to advancing the University of Antwerp’s ambition to foster international and intercultural competencies among all students. Beyond policy development, his responsibilities include coordinating and implementing alternative and more accessible forms of internationalisation, ensuring an inclusive experience for all.
Božidar Grigić is the Head of the Higher Education Unit at the Slovene National Agency for Erasmus+ (CMEPIUS) with over ten years of experience in internationalisation and European cooperation in Higher Education. He is active member in several working groups covering topics such as Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility, Erasmus+ Charter for HE and Internationalisation and Mobility in scope of Bolognia Follow-up Group.

Eva Haug
Eva Haug is the Educational Advisor for Curriculum Internationalization and COIL/virtual exchange at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and responsible for capacity building and policy in these fields. She’s an elected member of the EAIE Thematic Committee Teaching, Learning & Curriculum. Eva’s been volunteering for the EAIE since 2018 and in 2024 she received the award for Outstanding Contribution. She wrote two Pathways to Practice publications; one on IaH for International Officers and the second on Getting started with virtual exchange.
Eva’s a research fellow at the University of the Free State (SA) and an advocate for inclusive and decolonized COIL/VE.
Eeva Heikkilä is a Project Manager at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, specializing in the coordination and implementation of for example Erasmus, Interreg and national projects. Eeva works within the Project Management Office, contributing to development work that enhances project processes, mentoring and organizational efficiency. With strong expertise in managing diverse initiatives, Eeva ensures smooth collaboration across teams and stakeholders. Outside of work, Eeva enjoys staying active and engaging in various sports.
Thibault Hoogstoel joined Ghent University's International Relations Office in 2022 as a policy advisor, bringing expertise from his background in secondary education and European Union studies. He specializes in internationalization of the curriculum, supporting lecturers and study programme teams in developing opportunities for students to build international and intercultural competencies, both at home and abroad. He oversees Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility and Blended Intensive Programmes, summer/winter schools, and various formats for online learning in an international context, including virtual mobility, virtual exchange (COIL), and blended mobility.
Fanny Lacroix-Desmazes is a policy officer in the Erasmus+ team of the Higher Education Unit of DG EAC. She is in charge of Erasmus+ Key Action 2 in higher education – cooperation among organisations and institutions. She also contributes to the monitoring of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and the evaluation of the work of Erasmus+ National Agencies. Previously, she worked in different positions at the European Commission and at the European Parliament.
Dr Liia Lauri has served as the Head of Higher Education at the Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA) since 2024. She previously held the positions of Assessment Director and Head of Information at HAKA, where she has worked since 2009. Dr Lauri earned her PhD in Information Society Technologies from Tallinn University in 2021.
She has been actively involved in numerous international projects and working groups, including coordinating the National Team of Bologna Experts in Estonia and contributing to the ENQA Working Group on Quality Assurance and e-Learning. Her research focuses on quality assurance and the information culture of higher education institutions, and she has published several papers in these fields.
Debora Lucque has extensive experience in the third sector at European and international levels. In her role as Communications Officer at the European University Foundation, she focuses on digital communication, visual content, and strengthening the visibility of EU-funded initiatives.
Simone is President of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). He holds a binational Bachelor’s in Political Science and International Relations and a Master’s in International Development and Public Policy. He previously held various roles within ESN at local, national, and international levels, including in the Education Office of ESN Italy and as a Policy Intern at ESN’s headquarters. His work focuses on advancing internationalisation of higher education, improving access to mobility opportunities, and integrating student perspectives into policy and practice.
Robert O'Dowd is full professor for English Studies at the Universidad de León, Spain. He comes from Ireland and has taught at universities in Ireland, Germany and Spain. He has published extensively on the application of Virtual Exchange in Higher Education and has been invited to be plenary speaker at international conferences in the US, Asia and across Europe. He has coordinated 3 Erasmus+ projects, the most recent one being the Erasmus+ European Policy Experiment ‘Virtual Innovation and Support Networks for Teachers’ (VALIANT). He collaborates with organizations on the promotion and integration of Virtual Exchange in higher education and his most recent book is Internationalising Higher Education and the Role of Virtual Exchange (2023, Routledge).He has been listed in Stanford University’s ‘Ranking of the World Scientists: World´s Top 2% Scientists’ from 2022-2024.
Violeta Osouchova is the Director of the Centre for International Cooperation at Masaryk University, Brno, and serves as the university’s Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator. With extensive experience in higher education management, she leads the university’s internationalization strategy, oversees bilateral agreements, manages mobility projects, and coordinates strategic partnerships such as the European University Alliance EDUC. She has been involved in numerous Erasmus+ projects and activities, including Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs), and has held leadership roles in major EU-funded initiatives such as Erasmus+ and Erasmus Mundus.
Dagmar Provijn coordinates the Quality Assurance Systems Flanders 2019–2025 and 2025–2031 and co-authored several of their frameworks. He serves as secretary of the Resonance Group, consulting Flemish stakeholders on key policy changes and developments in external quality assurance. He is process coordinator for institutional and programme assessments in Flanders, Luxembourg, and European Approach procedures, and acts as international panel member. Internationally, he represents NVAO Flanders in the Quality Audit Network. He coordinated a pilot procedure in the EUniQ project and contributed to ENQA’s Working Group on Micro-credentials. He facilitates ECA’s Training Academy ‘Assessing the Quality of Internationalisation’.
Angeliki Psychogyiou is Policy and Project Coordinator at the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA), where she leads initiatives on digitalisation, sustainability, and international cooperation in higher education. She coordinates ACA’s Thematic Peer Group on New Mobility Formats, advancing discussions on digitally enhanced and sustainable mobility models, and currently oversees ACA’s participation in the European Digital Education Hub, where she has led the working group on sustainability in digital education.
Angeliki is also the project coordinator of HIBLend, an Erasmus+ project enhancing institutional capacity to implement high-quality blended mobility. With extensive experience in the design and evaluation of EU-funded education initiatives, she regularly supports National Agencies in reviewing Erasmus+ proposals, including those related to external action instruments.
Before joining ACA, she worked in institutional cooperation at the University of Paris 8, managing Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) partnerships with institutions in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Western Balkans. She later joined the European Vocational Training Association (EVTA), overseeing a portfolio of EU-funded skills and employability projects.
BliZ, the Study Centre for Blind and Visually Impaired Students at Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences
David Smida
David Smida has over 15 years of experience in counselling for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities at the Study Centre for Blind and Disabled Students (BliZ) at THM – University of Applied Sciences. As the university’s Erasmus+ Inclusion Officer he promotes an equal opportunity in higher education for incoming, outgoing, and international students based on a self-developed guideline, presented at an international conference together with DAAD San Francisco and other strong partners. His mission is to enable inclusive education from A (accessible literature) to Z (zero barriers) for academic success for all students at his home university and abroad.
Rúna Gudmarsdóttir is the Director of the Erasmus+ National Agency in Iceland and a PhD candidate at Tilburg University. She has worked on internationalisation in education since 2007, both for the National Agency, the University of Iceland and the European Commission.
In parallel with her role as NA director, Rúna represents Iceland in the European Network for the Recognition of Prior Learning (ERPL), serves as an administrator in the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) and is actively involved in the European Network for International Student Mobility (ENIS).
In her ongoing PhD research project, Rúna examines the impact of parental responsibilities on Erasmus+ participation among students in the Nordic countries. She holds an undergraduate degree from the Iceland University of Education and two master’s degrees in Intercultural Education from Freie Universität Berlin and Applied Linguistics from the University of Sussex.
